| The day after the 2005 Turner prize was awarded to Simon Starling for ‘Shedboatshed’, I went out and bought a box of 50 Christmas cards. These were folded into paper boats, and then floated down the stream that runs through the park near where I live. After they’d dried out, the cards were carefully unfolded back to their original configuration. Of the 50 cards, seven could not be retrieved due to snagging on underwater branches, or lodging on parts of the bank that would have been dangerous to reach. Merry Christmas one and all. |
